We leave San Jose on the famous Panamerican Highway.
After passing the international airport, we soon turn onto smaller roads heading westwards.
Shortly after passing the small town of Atenas, the view opens and we can already see the Pacific Coast far down below, still many more kilometers and hundreds of curves away.
We stop at the small restaurant El Cafetal for a coffee-break and enjoy the scenic view from its terrace.
Afterwards we continue climbing down the mountain range, passing many different vegetation zones from the windy mountains, down to the hot jungle.
Here we will stop at Rio Tárcoles. This river houses Costa Rica’s largest colony of wild crocodiles, which we will be able to watch from real close.
We will stop for lunch at Villa Caletas.
Build on cliff high above the shore, this luxurious restaurant and hotel offers a spectacular panoramic view of the off-shore islands on one side and the Western mountain range on the other side.
After lunch, we will pass the town of Jaco, a popular destination for surfers, who appreciate its beautiful beaches and steady waves year 'round.

Final destination of the day is Manuel Antonio, the country's oldest and most famous National Park.
We check in at our Hotel Villa Teca, where you can relax for a while in your large, comfortable room before enjoying the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from the hotel's own terrace and restaurant. In the evening, you will have the chance to explore the nightlife of Costa Rica's most popular tourist destination on the Pacific coast. Manuel Antonio offers numerous great restaurants and bars to explore.
After a good breakfast, we will have an action packed morning. We will ride approx. 25km north to the Rainmaker Conservation Project, a privately owned Rainforest Reserve that spans over 1.530 acres of virgin rainforest. It is a biodiversity bank for 70% of all the flora and fauna species found in Costa Rica, which we will discover in a very special way: The Rainmaker Canopy Walk consists of a suspension bridge system build into the majestic tree-tops. The six sections total 250 meters, spanning from platforms attached to massive hardwood trees to create the most impressive Canopy Walk in Costa Rica. The design permits minimum forest impact, giving you an opportunity to explore the majesty of the forest from a bird's eye view.
After a light lunch we get back onto our bikes to discover more of the diverse backland. If you have the necessary skills, our guide will take you to some technically demanding off-road trails. In the early afternoon we get back to Manuel Antonio, where you will find time to relax under palm-trees on beautiful white sand beaches.
Night at Hotel Villa Teca

On our last day we still have two more highlights on the menu: First, we will visit the famous Manual Antonio National Park. On our hike through the park, you will be able to watch an abundance of different animals in their natural environment. Among them white face monkeys, howler monkeys, lizards, snakes, iguanas, sloths, racoons and over 350 species of birds.
The second highlight is our ride back to San José and it will be YOU to decide which route to chose:
We get back to San José in the late afternoon.
